Özet

Eğitim, insanların davranışlarında kasıtlı, kendi yaşantısı yoluyla, istendik,
kalıcı izli değişiklik meydana getirme sürecidir. Bu tanımda; Kasıtlı:
plan ve program dahilinde. Kendi yaşantısı yoluyla: Kişinin sürecin içerisinde
var olması. İstendik: Eğitimin gerçekleştiği o toplumun beklentisine
uygun olması. Süreç: Öğrenmeler bir araya gelerek eğitimi oluşturmaktadır.
Bunun için de belli bir süre geçmesi gerekmektedir. Bu yüzden eğitim
bir süreç gerektirmektedir. Eğitim, insanın diğer varlıklardan, özellikle hayvanlardan
farklılaşan özelliklerini vurgulamalıdır. Eğitim, çocuklara hayal
kurmayı (tahayyül) ve bu hayallerin nasıl şekillendirilmesi (tasavvur) gerektiğinin
metotlarını öğretmelidir. Eğitim, her bir istidadın (yeteneğin) terbiyesine
uygun bir yöntemle seçilmelidir. İnsan hayatının önemli bir bölümü
örgün eğitim kurumlarında geçmektedir. Öğretmenin eğitim sistemi içinde
ne kadar önemli bir işlevi yerine getirdiği hususunda hemen hemen herkes
hemfikir olsa da etkili öğretmenin kim olduğu ve özellikleri araştırmacılar
arasında tartışma konusu olmuştur. Çok sayıda insanı ilgilendirmesi okul ve
öğretmenlerin sorumluluğunu daha da arttırmaktadır.

Abstract

Education is a process that makes a delibrate, willed and permanent
marks in people’s behavior through his or her own life. In this definition, the
term ‘delibrate’ refers a plan and a programme, the term ‘through his or her
own life’ refers to the existance and being of the human being himself/herself
in the process personally; the term ‘willed’refers to be in line with the expectations
of the society and the term ‘process’ refers to the creation of education
with the union of learnings. A certain period of time is required for
this. Therefore, training requires a process. Education should emphasize the
differentiating characteristics of human beings from other beings, especially
animals. Education should teach children the imagination and the methods
of how these dreams should be taken. Education should be chosen in a manner
appropriate to the manners of each of the skills. An important part of
human life is lived in formal education institutions. Almost everyone agrees
that the teacher has an important function in the education system but who
is the effective teacher and what are the characteristics of the effective teacher
have been the subject of debate. The responsibility of schools and teachers
is very high as it concerns a large number of people.
